Hiroko Hashimoto studied Art History, the History of East-Asian Art, German Philology, and Japanese Language and Literature at the University of Cologne. 1992: MA, then freelance interpreter, translator, and editor. 2003: Multi-lingual secretary at the Institute of Art History at the Freie Universität, Berlin, before being appointed to an administrative post in the academic office of the Department of History and Cultural Studies. Since 2012: Administrator for the Centre for Advanced Studies BildEvidenz.
