Profile
1966–68: Studied at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin. 1974–84: Author and editor for the magazine Filmkritik, published in Munich. 1998–99: Speaking about Godard / Von Godard sprechen, New York and Berlin (together with Kaja Silverman). 1993–99: Visiting Professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 1966: over 100 productions for television and cinema: children’s television, documentary films, essay films, story films. Since 1996: numerous group and solo exhibitions in museums and galleries. 2007: Participant at documenta 12 with Deep Play. 2004–06: Visiting professor at the Akademie für Bildende Künste, Vienna. 2006–11: Full professor at the same institution (Akademie für Bildende Künste, Vienna).
