Research Project
The “Sonneninsel” Collection of Movies and Photographs
This research project involves the academic scrutiny, art-historical categorization, and curatorial preparation of a collection of private cine films (movie films) and photographs from the 1930s and 1940s. Intended as a family chronicle, these materials also document a sustainable, horticultural project in the Greater Berlin area that is of undoubted cultural and historical importance, yet scarcely known. Research into the legacy of the project in the period from the 1950s to the 1980s is still needed, partly to be conducted in Heimat museums in Köpenick and the Mark Brandenburg. The intention is also to set up a related crowd-sourcing project, the results of which will be presented in an exhibition.
